KENTUCKY STRAIGHT BOURBON WHISKEY

In 1773, three McAfee Brothers named James, George and Robert left Virginia westward to explore the uncharted territory that would later become known as Kentucky. Traveling by canoe at first, the McAfee Company eventually followed a native trail overland that led to the great buffalo crossing, where the brothers surveyed the land now home to the world’s most award-winning distillery – Buffalo Trace Distillery. The surveyor marks left behind are known as benchmarks and this bourbon whiskey honors the pioneering spirits of these early American explorers.

TASTING NOTES

The nose bears caramel notes with a delicate stone-fruit backdrop. A robust and sturdy palate with some fine leather notes mingling with dry tobacco, a touch of oak and a hint of dried cherries. The finish is smooth and calming.

The nose is sweet with hints of vanilla and caramel. The taste is well balanced and completes the palate. The balance from the blend of different char levels of barrels smooths the edges of the bourbon creating a full bodied experience from start to finish.

Made from 100% Scottish grown barley and malted using peat smoke from a peat bog just a few miles from where owner Graeme Wallace was born, this whisky is a truly personal endeavor.

Aged a minimum of 3 years in virgin oak casks in order to attain a wonderful harmony of peat and oak. 

Nose: A perfect balance of smoke and oak with plenty of peat up front. Inviting and intriguing but not over powering

Palate: Sweetly glazed BBQ meat and smoked beef jerky, with some oak and vanilla. The addition of water opens peppery and briny notes, followed by blackberry and apple pie.

TASTING NOTES

COLOUR: Sunrise gold.

NOSE: Toasted oak, creamy steamed rice and coconut milk pudding, citrus fruits, vanilla and oat biscuits.

TASTE: A burst of effervescent citrus fruits—lemon and lime with sweet creamy vanilla sponge and toasted coconut.

FINISH: Medium with sweet, toasted oak and vanilla.

The third release in the Harmony Collection has been created in collaboration with Stella and Mary McCartney to celebrate the lush, fertile lands of Scotland that connect all those who have stood upon them for generations.​

The McCartney sisters' love of Scotland stems from their memories of summer days in amber fields at the family farm in the Scottish countryside. Our Discovery Series has quickly gained a reputation for showcasing exquisite, innovative blends. Series #9 takes the spirit of discovery further by uncovering rare barrels of craft Georgia bourbon with a unique, elegant flavor. The blend is structured around this distinctive profile, adding classic Kentucky bourbon, 17-yr. Tennessee Whiskey, and a touch of sweetness from Canada. It is a combination of tradition and forward-thinking, large-scale and craft. The elements fold into one another remarkably, creating a robust, vibrant, one-of-a-kind pour.

Aged in 2nd fill oak barrels, this amazing spirit brings out savory vanilla notes with a hint of cinnamon and creme brûlée. This 15 year old American Light Whiskey is bottled at cask strength.

Building on the success of Slipknot’s award-winning No. 9 whiskeys, Red Cask takes Cedar Ridge’s aged bourbon and rye whiskeys and finishes them for an additional year in estate-owned, red wine casks before expertly blending them for this most recent release.
