Ex-red wine casks that were sourced from Israel’s finest wineries were picked for this part of the Elements series. The Mediterranean’s climate, variety of soil types, hot sunny days, and cool nights bring a spicy and unique flavor to Israeli wine – and in turn, our casks. The wine barrels used in the Elements Red Wine are a celebration of local terroir, curating a floral single malt with notes of dark chocolate.

TASTING NOTES

AROMA: Red dried fruits, ginger, oak, and a delicate coconut bouquet led to a gentle mineral perfume.

Multi-layered and seriously smooth, this perfectly crafted port cask finish will delight any connoisseurs tastebuds. Aged for 21 years, our whisky's velvety style reflects all our time-honoured skills in marrying casks - techniques for which we've been renowned since our distillery began. Over the initial maturation in American oak casks the whisky develops an intense spicy sweetness. It is then finished over two years in Portuguese port wine casks, gaining rich, dark chocolate notes and full-bodied elegance. This unique balance of such contrasting casks, reveals a wonderfully complex dram.

The latest release from the Foursquare Exceptional Cask Selection series of rums has been aged for 12 years in Caribbean ex-bourbon barrels. Produced in Barbados and bottled at a cask-strength 60 percent ABV, this is not a timid rum, but it also isn't overly bold and in-your-face. Sweet caramel and vanilla aromas will appeal to rum drinkers and American whiskey fans alike. Tropical pineapple, mango, and banana notes take the flavor to a new level, while concentrated molasses provides a palate of brown sugar and baking spice bliss. DON JUANCHO THE MAN BEHIND OUR LOGO

Don Juan Meléndez (“Don Juancho”) is the legendary figure who inspired the creation of Diplomático.

According to local stories, he was a Mantuano – a local nobleman – passionate for exploring the sources, ingredients, and methods behind the many alluring flavors of rum and other traditional beverages. It is said he became famous for his impressive collection of beverages known as “the Ambassador’s Reserves”, which he was keen to share with his closest friends, guided by his chivalry and authentic personality. Today, Diplomático rums carry Don Juancho’s portrait, and the brand is driven by the passion and values that were his hallmark.

About the Brand

From barrel to bottle, Hand Barrel was established to bring you a whiskey experience unlike any other. We sought to create a vessel that was unique, sleek, and unlike anything else in the industry; a contemporary take on a centuries-old American pastime that would also protect the vital liquid gold inside. Once the bottle was perfected, we sought out a handcrafted bourbon that would match our bottle in quality.

There are a thousand small, yet critical decisions that go into making a batch of bourbon. Each and every step of Hand Barrel’s process has been considered and deliberate; from the territory of distillation, the mix of grains utilized in our mash bill, the height at which our barrels are matured in the rickhouse, and the individual barrels selected for each bottling run. The resulting product, true in character, rich and authentic, is exactly how we like our bourbon.

Catrina History

La Catrina was a zinc etching originally created in 1910 by Mexican printmaker Jose Guadalupe Posada. He was known for his images of political and social satire. She became a symbolic figure during the time of the Mexican Revolution. 

​La Catrina is often associated with Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a pre-Colombian Meso-American observace of death and life that is celebrated on November 2nd in all of Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula and parts of Central America.

​La Catrina in her elegance broad-brimmed hat first appeared in a satirical engraving that mocked those who pretended to be of a higher class, even if that meant starving, and going painfully thin, or without flesh. 

​To this day, La Catrina continues to be a symbolic figure. She has become part of the imagery for Dia de los muertos but also she can be found in books, cartoons, posters, figurines and artwork spanning over 100 years.

This artwork was created around 1910-1913 by José Guadalupe Posada in an etching called “La Calavera Catrina,” originally known as “La Calavera Garbancera.” She was created as a satirical image. Now we adapt Mexico's great folflore into a one of a kind Tequila Package, Dona Celia Tequila. Made out of ceramic and hand painted designs, this doll not only has a beautiful design but has a high quality 100% Agave Tequila to compliment inside.

Maestro Dobel Atelier is a collection that every year launches a new hand-painted collection with the technique used to make traditional Oaxacan alebrijes. This year, the 2022 collection pays homage to the same artisans who cover the suits, chairs and hats of our distinctive charros with fine fretwork, and adorn them with silver and gold. 5 different designs inspired by current charro outfits made by Mexican artisans were created.​

In addition to unparalleled bottle quality and artistry, Maestro Dobel Atelier Tequila is like no other. It is an Extra Añejo that is characterized by being aged for 40 months in American and European oak barrels, providing a combination of aromas and flavors such as cooked agave, vanilla tones, dried fruits, spices and a delicious touch of toasted almonds. ​

A small number of Oloroso sherry casks which demonstrate exceptional character have been chosen by Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie for the eleventh batch of The GlenDronach Grandeur.

This expression is an exquisite representation of the rich, complex and full-bodied style of The GlenDronach Distillery. All of its natural colour has been drawn from the casks in which it has rested for almost three decades. Each bottle is individually numbered by hand as a reflection of its rarity.

TASTING NOTES

APPEARANCE: Ruby tinged walnut.

NOSE: Opulent and powerful with a symphony of sherry aromatics, interwoven with dark manuka honey, roasted almond and walnut. Baked plum and ginger captivate the senses, deepening to rustic vintage leather and freshly ground coffee.

PALATE: Intense and full-bodied with dark fruit notes on a base of velvet and fine leather. A crescendo of black cherry and espresso adorns each mouthful.

CONCLUSION: Richly rewarding, with a persistent chocolate, liquorice and walnut finish.

Ezra Brooks is distilled using the highest quality ingredients, ages the old fashioned way and charcoal filtered to deliver a beautifully mellow flavor and smooth finish.
