In May 2010, expert jimadors from the Corazon Distillery began harvesting agave from the rolling hillsides of Arandas, which is situated in the Jalisco region of Mexico. Rather than clear-cutting the fields from the outset, the jimadors employed scientific tools in order to analyze the precise sugar content of the 80 tons of agave plants in Arandas. Once the sugar content had been determined, the jimadors combined agave with a low sugar content (a low sugar content will produce a tequila with a drier, more mineral flavor profile) together with agave with a high sugar content (a high sugar content will produce a tequila with a sweeter and more bold flavor profile) in order to produce a unique blanco tequila. Once the tequila had been produced, it was fractionated and matured in three unique types of casks: casks that had been previously used to mature Buffalo Trace Bourbon, casks that had previously been used to mature George T. Stagg Bourbon and casks that had previously been used to mature Sazerac Rye. Corazon Sazerac Rye Aejo Tequila is aged for 24 months in casks that were previously used to mature Sazerac Rye. It has an aroma of strawberries, butterscotch and toffee, which give way to notes of caramel, roasted nuts, and ripe citrus on the palate. The finish is sharp and bold, with touches of pineapple and agave balancing notes of spicy rye.

Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series 2022 Release: BRT-01 & BRT-02

Our fourth Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series may be the easiest way to taste your way through the rickhouse.  The name BRT was given to these expressions because of the influence our consistent practice of hand-barrel rotation (BRT) and temperature has on our whisky process. Made to be enjoyed as a pair, BRT-01 is inspired by the tasting notes found at the hotter top of the rickhouse, and BRT-02 is inspired by tasting notes found at the cooler bottom. Together,  they give people the unique opportunity to experience where the characteristics responsible for the original Maker’s Mark come from, so they can reach a new level of understanding of whisky.

Because there’s twice the taste but a limited number of bottles, it would be wise to ask your local retailer about availability near you.

Hand-selected by Nicole Austin, this Cascade Moon release complements the series by offering a complex and mature rye addition to the lineup. The barrels containing aging rye arrived from Indiana to Cascade Hollow in 2012, where they spent another nine years in Cascade Hollow’s single story rickhouses. The temperature conditions led to a gracefully slow maturation, bringing the beautiful and unique notes of the whisky forward. At 13-years old, this rye is both delightfully balanced and sophisticated. The whisky is a mellow and enjoyable rye at an ideal 100-proof.

The initial aromas are sweet, tinged with a mixture of wild strawberries, raspberries and pomegranate seeds. It then develops a touch of freshness with hints of blood orange and star fruit. Black pepper, dark chocolate, cinnamon, dried flowers and new leather round off the bouquet.

A SPICY, WELL-DEFINED PALATE

The fleshy attack on the palate confirms the wine’s voluptuous character. The chiselled structure of the Pinot Noir is accompanied by the sensation of crisp stone fruit, such as plums and cherries. The texture is finely powdered and a delicate astringency underscores the long finish, with flashes of pink grapefruit and lime zest.

This gold-medal winning infusion is something to be marveled. The twists and turns of the thinly cut peel make for a perfect artistic visual in this craft vodka, as well speaks to the brand's natural-infusion ethos.

Infuse's Lemon vodka has a pale yellow hue and bright candied-lemon peel scent. The spirit feels silky and viscous on the tongue and evokes waxy lemon peel flavors. Well-chilled, this is a bracing martini option.

In 1843 a grocer by the name of David Nicholson started distilling his original bourbon recipe in the private back room of his St. Louis general store on North 6th Street. Weller handcrafted Nicholson's iconic 43 bourbon at the Stitzel distillery. The Van Winkles owned the brand until 2000 when Luxco acquired it. Still possessing the outstanding character for which it earned its original popularity in 1843, the David Nicholson legacy lives on unchanged, unfettered, and unmatched. Aged in new charred oak barrels this wheated bourbon that provides unparalleled smooth flavor and finish. An incredible flavor profile that earned it at the Double Gold at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Laurent-Perrier continues its innovation in Champagne with the introduction of its Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature NV.

Laurent-Perrier first produced a zero-dosage champagne in the 19th century. The house resurrected this style in 1981 with the introduction of its Ultra Brut at a time when no other zero-dosage champagnes were made.
