A premium Scotch whisky that is known for its rich and complex flavor profile. The whisky is produced at the Royal Brackla Distillery, which is located in the Scottish Highlands and has a long and storied history dating back to the early 19th century.

The whisky is made using 100% malted barley and is aged for a minimum of 16 years in a combination of first-fill and refill sherry casks. This aging process gives the whisky a rich and deep flavor profile, with notes of dried fruit, caramel, vanilla, and a hint of spice.

TASTING NOTES

Bottled at 57.2% abv, 100% proof. This higher alcohol content allows our distillers to add more botanicals. With almost double the juniper and citrus than anything else in the Edinburgh Gin range, this allows for a smoother mouth feel which counteracts the heat from the spirit. This is complimented by Szechuan peppercorns which give a warming tingle to the finish. Strong in both alcohol and flavour.

Slow & Low Coffee Old-Fashioned is inspired by the classic coffee cocktail, Café Brulot. Bold, bright, and brimming with baking spice, our coffee old-fashioned is comprised of Straight Rye Whiskey, Intelligentsia Coffee, a pinch of demerara cane sugar and raw honey, aromatic bitters, and navel orange peel. Buzzard's Roost is excited to announce the latest addition to their bourbon collection. Created from a blend of 4- and 5-year-old double-barreled bourbons, Toasted American Oak Bourbon is made from a blend of two mash bills.

The color is a vibrant mixture of bronze and apricot. With elegant and enticing tasting notes, this bourbon is best enjoyed on its own or in a classic whiskey cocktail.

To the nose, Toasted American Oak Bourbon lends itself to caramel, coconut, and vanilla notes met with delicate candy aromas. The palate moves from the sweet notes from the toasted oak barrel finish, and notes of confectionary and baking spice flavors shine through along with hints of candied goodness found on the nose. The finish carries notes of butterscotch, toasted oak, vanilla wafer, and coconut.

• Nose: Aromas of caramel, coconut, and intense vanilla dominate, and are coupled with sweet candy and floral notes.

In the history of Champagne, wines that were blended for greater sweetness were customarily described as « Rich ». In Russia, consumers would add sugar to their champagne, thus adding a personal touch to their wine. The Rich blend is comprised of Pinot Noir (45%), the main pillar of Veuve Clicquot’s winemaking, which gives the champagne its fundamental structure. The large part of Meunier (40%) provides roundness to the blend and Chardonnay (15%) completes it with extra freshness. For Rich Rosé, the blend is completed with 15% Pinot Noir red wine. Rich’s uniqueness is in its dosage of 60 g/L, which enhances the blend’s aromas. As Veuve Clicquot’s Cellar Master shares, “Sugar in champagne is like spices in a recipe: used correctly it can bring out specific aromas and play with flavors.

About this Chapter 7 Whisky

Cambus, a Lowland distillery, played a key role in the establishment of grain whisky. It began distilling malt in 1806 until owner John Mubray installed two patent stills in 1836. During the 19th century, Cambus expanded to become one of the founding companies of DCL. Its ad in The Daily Mail was critical in swaying public opinion about grain whisky. This led to DCL winning their case against malt distilleries in 1908.

Chapter 7 Whisky has finished a single bourbon hogshead in three octave casks. The octaves had previously held Glen Elgin and Linkwood. This is a well aged, well finished, example of Cambus single grain whisky.
