The story of Nevada H & C Distilling Co. begins in 2004 when the screenwriter Jonathan Hensleigh met co-founder Aaron Chepenik in a bar in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles. They quickly realized they had the same vision of opening a bar, opening The Griffin together. After a couple years of sampling their inventory, they began discussing what they liked and didn't like about the bourbons and vodkas they were selling. One night, the idea of creating their own spirits popped up, which eventually led to them opening the first distillery in the city of Las Vegas. The City Council had to create a license especially for them since none existed beforehand. It took them 6 years of gathering equipment and setting it up, with several hurdles along the way. The bright side was that by the time they opened their doors they had several high-rye bourbons ready, which meant they could begin operating immediately. They have two brands under their belt now, both with several medals from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition: Silver Dollar American Vodka and Smoke Wagon. The latter comprises several bourbons, including the Smoke Wagon Uncut Unfiltered Bourbon. The goal with this expression was to bring the blending philosophy from their Small Batch into a high-proof bourbon meant to be drunk neat. Based on a blend of old and young high-rye whiskeys, it's rich, sweet, and creamy. It has won the coveted Double Gold medal at the 2017 and 2020 editions of the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

The Featherbone Factory built by E.K. Warren in the 19th century to manufacture women's corsets sits on the banks of Lake Michigan just across the Indiana border in Three Oaks, Michigan. As the factory changed hands in the twentieth century, it became a production site for everything from buggy whips to pickles. Today, it's home to Journeyman Distillery and Bill Welter, Journeyman's master distiller. Welter, who was formerly a banker in Indiana, began his Journey when his family business was sold in 2006. He moved to Scotland, where he began to learn the art of craft distillation from Greg Ramsay (master distiller at Nant Distillery) and Bill Lark (master distiller at Lark Distillery). After returning to the United States, Welter spent time producing and resting whiskey using a prominent organic & kosher distiller's facility in Chicago before opening the doors of his own distillery in Three Oaks with the intention to offer grain-to-glass spirits from day one/drop one. Silver Cross Four Grain artisanal whiskey is comprised of four types of grain in equal parts.Distilled in a way to highlight the flavor profile of each grain in the whiskey itself.The Silver Cross name is inspired by a medal that was given out in the early days of the British Open, which would later come to symbolize friendship, tradition, camaraderie and spirited competition.1% of all the proceeds from this whiskey is donated to various golf charities/organizations to teach kids the game of golf and instill in them good core values. This incredible whiskey earned 92 pts from the Beverage Tasting Institute and a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Master distiller Crispin Cain is a seasoned spirits and wine industry veteran. In 1983 he was moonlighting jobs in Pleasanton in a wine cellar, and on a bottling line, while working with Cooper Laboratories plasma kinetics division during the day. After having settled in Mendocino County, in 89 Crispin Cain worked as assistant distiller to the brandy master Hubert Germain-Robin for seven years before founding Greenway Distillers Inc. with his wife, partner, and vice president, Tamar Kaye in 2005. In 2008, he started a second company, Tamar Distillery Inc. which produces Low Gap Whiskey, Russell Henry Gin, DSP 162 Vodka, and Fluid Dynamics Barrel Aged Cocktails. Cain has proved to be quite the wizard on the still, known for delivering award-winning spirits, he has been distilling since way back in 1989. It was while working for Germain-Robin that Cain got the idea of creating high-quality whiskey from Northern California that would express the purity of nature, "one which expresses the simple beauty of clean air, clean water, and tall trees, while capturing the complexity of malted grains from a variety of local and classic sources." He continues: "I create Low Gap whiskies using the time honored traditions of Cognac, keen attention to fermentation, the Charentais Pot Still, the double distillation method, choosing fine barrels to match fine spirits. Carefully selecting the distillate which becomes Low Gap Whiskey is the best part of my job, I do this with great pleasure," says Cain of his Low Gap Whiskey. Low Gap Bavarian Hard Wheat Whiskey is made exclusively from malted Bavarian winter wheat, which has a high protein content and is ideal for fermentation. Once the wheat has been malted and mashed, it is fermented into a craft beer with an 8.8% ABV. Following fermentation, the wash is twice distilled through Coale's antique, 15-hectoliter cognac still. After distillation, the whiskey is aged in three different types of barrels: new American oak casks, 350-liter French Limousin oak barrels that were previously used to age brandy, and used American oak barrels that were previously used to mature Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon. After the whiskey has aged for a minimum of two years, it is brought to proof using rainwater and bottled by hand. The whisky has an oaky aroma, with touches of toasted wheat, chocolate and crackers. The aroma fades into notes of sweet caramel, malt, butter and tobacco on the palate, and ultimately leads to a finish accented by raisins, prunes and plums.

Girolamo Luxardo moved to what is today known as Zadar, Croatia in 1817 as a consular representative of Sardinia. It was his wife that became enamored with the local Dalmatian liqueur, the Rosolio Maraschino. In 1821 Girolamo opened a distillery and soon after received a certificate from the emperor of Austria that acknowledged its exceptional quality. Their liqueurs became known far and wide along with their growing and impressive range which included the Original Maraschino Cherries, Limoncello, and a cherry liqueur. By 1913 the company had grown considerably, opening a new state-of-the-art distillery. The operation along with the Luxardo bloodline barely made it through the Second World War, but a new distillery with its very own cherry orchards thrives today in Torreglia, the Veneto region of Northeast Italy. It employs traditional copper-pot stills while constantly upgrading and investing to stay at the forefront of the industry. The company remains family-owned and is ran by the fifth, sixth, and seventh generations of the Luxardo family. Their flagship Maraschino liqueur and a range of award-winning products are a cocktail staple, along with cherries, syrups, wines, brandies, and many others. Luxardo London Dry Gin is based on Luxardo's early 1900s recipe and contains 9 botanicals, including juniper, coriander, iris, angelica, licorice, cinchona, cinnamon, cardamom, and bitter oranges. The ingredients spend 24 hours in an alcoholic infusion before being distilled. The refinement then takes 19 days, after which the gin is filtered and brought down to 86 proof. The classic juniper-forward profile works great in cocktails and makes for a deliciously refreshing gin & tonic.

In the early 1800s, Don Felipe Camarena's ancestors began distilling tequila at their family farm, situated in the highlands region of Jalisco, Mexico. During the Mexican Revolution, Camarena's family was forced to abandon their farm, which was ultimately destroyed. Following the conflict, Don Felipe began growing and selling agave to other distillers in Jalisco. In 1937, after saving carefully and living frugally for many years, Don Felipe purchased a parcel of property in the mountains of Arandas in Jalisco, and opened the doors to La Altea Distillery. Situated just twenty miles away from the distillery that was destroyed during the Mexican Revolution, La Altea is serviced by a network of underground springs that serve as a constant source of energy for the blue weber agave growing on the Camarena estate. Today, Don Carlos Camarena, Felipe's grandson and La Altea's third-generation master distiller, pays homage to his family name by maintaining the standards of excellence set down by his ancestors. After expert jimadors harvest the blue weber agave plants from the Camarena estate at their peak of maturity, the hearts of the agave, or pias, are taken to the distillery where they are cooked in brick ovens for four days. After cooking the pias, Camarena crushes them in a pit using a large stone wheel known as a tahona. The tahona allows Camarena to extract the sweetest juice from the pias while discarding any unwanted impurities; were he to use a commercial shredder like larger distilleries, he might crush the smallest veins of the pia, out of which would come bitter and astringent compounds such as methanol. After crushing the pias, the remaining pulp is mixed together by foot, before being fermented in a wooden barrel for approximately four days. After fermentation, the tequila is twice distilled in a copper-pot still to 80 proof. While other producers distill tequila to a higher proof and then dilute the tequila with water in order to increase yields, Tapatio Tequila is distilled at 80 proof in order to create a more flavorful, robust tequila. Tapatio Tequila Reposado rests in oak barrels for approximately four months, giving it subtle woody undertones, with hints of oak and honey. Tapatio, which is a colloquial term used to refer to men from Jalisco, has had a cult following in Mexico for over 75 years. Be a Tapatio and get a bottle today!

Blanco has a white base with predominant notes combined between raw/cooked agave, slightly herbal with sweet characteristics on the palate. A robust and balanced body between citrus and floral notes with a balanced, smooth and long-lasting finish.

Born on September 5, 1850, Jasper Newton "Jack" Daniel was the youngest of ten children. His parents were of Scottish and Irish descent. In 1864 Jack learned the art of whiskey making from the preacher and an enslaved man named Nathan "Nearest" Green. Nearest eventually became Jack Daniel Distillery's head distiller. Daniel's distillery founded in Lynchburg, Tennessee in 1866 was the first registered distillery in the country (at the time, distilleries were required to register with the federal government, and the Jack Daniel Distillery was given Registered Distillery Number 1). Today, Jack Daniel Distillery is one of the most distinguished and recognizable names in the spirits industry. Among all their offerings Jack Daniel's Black Label stands out as the instantly recognizable, iconic classic and the brand's flagship. It accounts for 96% of Jack Daniel's sales, making it the best selling whiskey in the world. While the true meaning behind the "Old No. 7" on the label was lost with Daniel's death, it is known that it won 7 gold medals in a very different time. It received its very first at the 1904 World's Fair in St Louis, Missouri, where the spirit reigned supreme over 24 others from across the globe a sign of things to come. The most important step in its creation is still the charcoal mellowing, or as they like to call it "The Extra Blessing". Before going into barrels, the clear, 140-proof distillate is filtered through handcrafted charcoal drop by drop, a process that takes from 3 to 5 days and is the reason behind the Black Label's signature smoothness.

Why in the world would anyone want to put something called "Bitters" into a drink? In fact, Bitters are critical in the best drinks. The first publication of a bartenders' guide which included cocktail recipes was in 1862 - How to Mix Drinks; The Bon Vivant's Companion, by "Professor" Jerry Thomas. In addition to recipes for Punches, Sours, Slings, and the like, were 10 recipes for drinks called "Cocktails".

The effect of Bitters in a drink is to balance, round out and complex the flavor. Your mouth has taste receptors for sour, sweet, and salty; AND it has a receptor for bitter. The more receptors triggered as a drink tickles on the way down, the more interesting the drink. You know you have used Bitters correctly when the person enjoying the drink says, "Wow, there is something going on in the background of that drink". Consider that a slam-dunk.
