Winemaker Notes
Our winemakers wanted to craft a wine that possessed everything they loved about Merlot, only more: more rich fruit flavors, more cocoa accents, a more voluptuous mouthfeel. They selected grapes from premier vineyards in California’s Central Coast and North Coast appellations, known for producing grapes with exceptionally rich flavors and aromas. Finally, they fermented the wine on French and American oak to round out the flavors and mouthfeel.

Tasting Notes
Lavish is a luxurious, over the top expression of Merlot, offering a truly sensual experience. From its deep ruby red color and its alluring blueberry cordial fragrance, Lavish promises to be much more than a typical Merlot. On the palate, seamlessly integrated flavors of rich, ripe blueberries and juicy black plums flirt recklessly with dark cocoa and sensual vanilla notes before being swept up in a smooth, chocolaty finish. It’s full-bodied with a soft, round mouthfeel—a uniquely rich, extraordinarily lavish Merlot.

El Tesoro Paradiso is slowly aged for five years in French oak ex-Cognac barrels. Created by Don Felipe Camarena in collaboration in with Alain Royer of A. de Fussigny Cognac, this unique tequila has an earthy taste with a hint of minerality, tropical characteristics, and sweet notes of butterscotch.

It took over 70 years after the prohibition had ended for the distilling industry to return to New York City. New York had a flourishing distilling industry by the early 19th century, however things changed during the Civil War, when President Lincoln taxed spirits to fund the military. This resulted in many distilleries going underground before the end of the century. The fatal blow for the legal distilling industry in US came in 1920, when the Eighteenth Amendment came into effect making the production of alcohol illegal. It was only in the 21st century that small distilleries started resurging in New York. The New York Distilling Company, located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is one of the oldest distilleries in the city, and was founded in 2011 by Tom Potter, a co-founder of the Brooklyn Brewery, and Allen Katz, one of the nation's leading experts on distilled spirits and cocktails. The distillery specializes in gins and rye whiskeys and has been one of the pioneers of the city's distilling renaissance that builds upon the pre-prohibition heritage. Gin distilling in New York began in the 17th century, when Dutch settlers of New Amsterdam (as New York was then called) started making a version of the Dutch spirit genever. However, it wasn't until the early 19th century when the first commercial gin was produced in the US. Gin was a popular drink during the prohibition, as it was simple to make. American gin is a bit different from London and other European gins as a result of using other botanicals. Dorothy Parker Rose Petal Flavored Gin is a variation of New York Distilling Company's American gin, named after the famous New York writer Dorothy Parker. This fun and fanciful expression is made with an infusion of red and pink rose petals and crushed elderberries. Other botanicals used include juniper berries, coriander, green cardamom pods, cinnamon bark, lemon peel, and orange peel.

After eighteen months in oak, Tres' wood character is more prominent, and on first blush it is heady on the nose with tannin and wood oil notes. This fades after time in the glass, revealing richer versions of those characteristics in the Reposado: caramel and some chocolate notes. A lovely anejo, it really opens up when you give it time.

The Experience

WINEMAKING NOTES
> Grapes were sourced from vineyards throughout the Columbia Valley in Washington State.
> After two days of cold settling, the clean juice was racked off solids and fermented for 14-20 days.
> The wine was fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks to promote bright, fresh aromatics.

For over four generations Gonzlez family has been perfecting the tequila-making craft. To this day, they incorporate age-old processes and values handed down for generations. El Mayor represents a legacy of Tequila. Rodolfo Gonzlez is a very hands on Master Distiller. Passionately overseeing the entire process from field to bottle, and ensuring every drop that leaves his distillery is nothing short of perfection. Rodolfo's son Paul and daughter Graciela represent the fourth generation of Gonzlez distillers and continuation of the family legacy. El Mayor tequilas are handcrafted in the fertile, rocky soils of Jalisco Mexico using Weber Blue Agave. Once harvested their hand-selected agave is chopped stacked and cooked in autoclaves, before the cooked agave is shredded and gently pressed to extract the full agave flavor. After being fermented with a proprietary, family owned yeast strain, the agave juice is double distilled in copper lined pots. This unaged, 100% Blue Agave tequila delivers a crisp, light body, with just a hint of pepper and a bevy of accolades to match, including "Platinum, Best of Class" at the 2017 SIP Awards. 

Descended from the fiery ruby Port Wines originally shipped by George Sandeman in 1790, Sandeman Porto Fine Ruby is still made traditionally to be rich and robust yet with a special depth of flavour and the finesse, achieved by expertly blending wines from Sandeman´s large and varied stock.

Tasting Notes 
Brilliant red ruby in colour, with clean aromas of red fruits, plums and strawberries, Sandeman Porto Fine Ruby has full rich flavours and is very well balanced. Rich, round, balanced in the mouth, with overt flavours of fresh plums and red fruits.

Winemaking
Sandeman Porto Fine Ruby is produced by the traditional Porto Wine method. The hand-picked grapes undergo stalk-removal and crushing before fermentation, under controlled temperature, with skin maceration so as to extract the best components. The addition of wine alcohol at the ideal moment sets the balance between the wine's body and bouquet.

Maturation
After the harvest, the wines remain in the Douro until the following Spring. On this time of the year, the wines are transported to Vila Nova de Gaia to the Sandeman lodges. There, this fine wine will age in oak casks. Throughout the years the wines are carefully tasted and analysed by the oenology team who also makes all necessary corrections and prepares the final blend so as to keep Sandeman Porto Fine Ruby's style and character.

LIMITED RELEASE CASK-FINISHED WHISKEYS

Diamond Peak is our annual limited release of special cask-finished whiskeys we prize most.

PROCESS & PROFILE

Diamond Peak’s second unique release highlights flavors that transcend traditional whiskey. Using a marriage of 5-8 year Stranahan’s, the liquid spends just over 2 years in casks that previously held the finest extra añejo tequila, the prized Reserva de Familia blended from the José Cuervo special family reserves. The resulting whiskey is a burst of brightness that’s herbal, peppery, and has just the right amount of agave sweetness.

DISTILLATION: Distilled from 100% malted barley and handmade in small batches at the Stranahan’s distillery, Colorado’s first legal distillery since Prohibition

MATURATION: A marriage of five to eight-year-old Stranahan’s American Single Malt Whiskey, initially aged in virgin American Oak Barrels with #3 char.

FINISH: Upon completion of the aging process, the whiskey is transferred into extra añejo tequila casks, where the liquid is finished for up to a little over 2 years. The resulting taste is both rich as it is complex, producing a mix of flavors and an ultra-smooth taste.

CUT: Cut to proof with pristine Rocky Mountain water from Eldorado Springs and non-chill filtered.

NOSE: Peppery and floral, softly layered with butterscotch.

PALATE: Herbal, salted caramel with a mellow oak backbone.

FINISH: Creamy malt fades into light agave sugar.
