Duke Grand Cru Reserve Rye whiskey marries the classic and powerful flavors of aged Kentucky rye with the finest French Oak Grand Cru wine barrels in the world. This rye is meticulously crafted and then delicately rests in these barrels, leading to an incredible balance of flavors while extracting the subtle nuances of the French oak and years of Cabernet infusion. The rye is then moved to rest in a second French oak wine barrel, which has been graced by both a world-class Cabernet and our 9-year-old Kentucky Straight bourbon. This secondary finish rounds out the velvety profile of the rye.

The One and Only New Orleans Original. Sazerac Rye Whiskey symbolizes the tradition and history of New Orleans. Rye Whiskey that dates back to the 1800's, around the time when saloons, veiled as Coffee Houses, began lining the streets of New Orleans. It was at the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street where local patrons were served toddies made with Rye Whiskey and Peychaud's Bitters. The libation became known as the Sazerac and America's first branded cocktail was born. This is the whiskey that started it all.

Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. traces their roots back to the 1880's, to the heart of Henderson Kentucky. Peerless Whiskey was founded by a businessman with a bold personality Henry Kraver, who revived the brand from the brink of ruin in the late 1880s. Under Kraver's guidance, rose from the ashes, increasing production 25-fold. But the growth of the brand was subsequently stunted by the very unforgiving era of Prohibition. Now, a century later, Peerless Whisky is in the hands of Kraver's great-grandson Corky Taylor and great-great-grandson Carson Taylor. Keeping Kraver's legacy alive, the duo has resurrected the brand, even distilling under the original Distilled Spirits Plant number, DSP-KY-50 in a centuries-old warehouse in downtown Louisville, near the Ohio River. Peerless Whiskey is distilled using a process that values quality over cost. They use a sweet mash, which is costlier than the more commonly used sour mash. The spirit also enters the barrel at a lower 107 proof, which results in the use of 17% more barrels. Water is added before the maturation process as opposed to after, transforming it from a dilutant to an ingredient. The straight rye is non-chill filtered and bottled at barrel strength, revealing a robust, authentic, unadulterated whiskey that was ranked No.15 by Whisky Advocate, on their list of Top 20 Whiskies of 2017. Peerless Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is an incredibly well-balanced whiskey with smooth, sweet notes of brown sugar, oak, and citrus. The Decade 2 expression is the second release in the Decade Series. This 10-year-old rye whiskey is bottled at 100 proof and features a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% barley. With its high rye content, this whiskey offers bold and spicy flavors complemented by subtle notes of vanilla and caramel from the oak barrel. This expression is an excellent example of a well-aged rye whiskey; its 100-proof bottling provides a satisfying warmth and depth of flavor.

Appearance: The whiskey has a deep amber color with a golden hue. The liquid appears viscous and has long legs when swirled in a glass.

AGE: 10 Years

NOSE: The nose opens up with strong aromas of rye bread and baking spices, such as cinnamon and nutmeg. There are also hints of dried fruits, particularly raisins and dates, as well as a subtle sweetness of vanilla and caramel from the oak barrel.

PALATE: On the palate, the whiskey is bold and assertive, with a spicy kick of black pepper and cloves followed by notes of dark chocolate, coffee, and toasted oak. The mouthfeel is rich and full-bodied, with a slight oiliness and a pleasant warmth from the high alcohol content.
