WHY HILLSIDE VINEYARDS ARE SPECIAL FOR CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Steep hillside vineyards present the ultimate challenge. Mountainous terrain tests both the grower and the vine. But the results can be extraordinary. These hillside vineyards have less access to water, with the rockier soil also holding fewer nutrients. These conditions stress the vines, resulting in the production of a fraction of the fruit of most vineyards. The harsh environment causes the vines to struggle, yielding fewer clusters and smaller berry size. The result is berries that are loaded with rich, ripe, intensely concentrated flavors and complexity.

Our original Crystal Head Vodka is crafted from locally sourced, Canadian corn. It is distilled four times into a neutral grain spirit and blended with pristine water from Newfoundland, Canada. The vodka is filtered seven times, of which three are through layers of semi-precious crystals known as Herkimer diamonds.

Our iconic skull-shaped bottle is produced in Europe, where bits of crystal are melted into the glass to ensure absolute clarity.

Crystal Head Vodka offers a clean, clear and colourless spirit. On the nose–neutral grain aromas with a delicate touch of citrus. Silky smooth with a hint of sweetness and vanilla. Ending with a sweet, creamy finish.

Town Branch Sherry Cask Finished Bourbon is a seamless blend of Bourbon from two unique sherry finishes – a bourbon blend finished in Oloroso sherry barrels married with several unique single barrel bourbon expressions individually finished in Oloroso sherry barrels. The result is a unique expression of Town Branch Bourbon with flavors of sherry interwoven, providing pronounced complexity and an exceptionally smooth finish.

Fernet Branca Liqueur is a bold, aromatic Italian digestif renowned for its complex flavor profile. Made from a secret blend of herbs, spices, and botanicals, it boasts notes of mint, myrrh, and spices with a distinctive bitter edge. Traditionally enjoyed as a digestif after meals, it can also be used in cocktails for a unique twist. Its intense, medicinal flavor makes it a favorite among those who appreciate a robust liqueur.

Maker Note

Each year, only the most outstanding small lots of Zinfandel are isolated from the many produced at Michael David to bottle under Lust. Lust is comprised of the best Zinfandel that Lodi has to offer; cherry picked right off the vine to create one sexy, showy and seductive wine. This limited production vintage possesses all the qualities expected from a luxury Zinfandel...Smooth to the core and leaves nothing to be desired.

TASTING NOTES

Seductive as its name, 2020 Lust Zinfandel is a dark ruby red beauty exuding seductive aromas of raspberry, violet, honey, almond and vanilla. Lush, sultry offerings of plum, caramel, clove and cacao are rounded out with delicate spice notes and an alluring, dark chocolate finish.

The first Lodi Cabernet Franc wine ever produced by Michael David Winery, and one of the few produced from Lodi. This varietal originated from the Bordeaux and Loire Valley regions of France and has been grown with success in many other countries. The grapes for this wine come from a 9 acre vineyard located on the west side of Lodi, no more than a stone’s throw away from the winery. Ready to drink now or could be set down for a few years.

TASTING NOTES

Deeply concentrated dark ruby in color with tobacco, strawberry jam and cherry aromas standing out. Full-bodied with dark fruit and spice, blackberry, clove, walnut and pepper are layered within hints of sweet vanilla. A lasting finish is framed with additional tobacco and spice notes intermingled into dark fruit flavors.

The Prisonere Pear captivates with its aromatic and taste characteristics, enclosed within a bottle shaped like a pear containing an entire fruit. Maestro Mezcalero Cutberto Santiago, a 3rd generation artisanal mezcal maker, carefully creates this exquisite mezcal. Employing time-honored techniques, he uses his trusted steed, Aldo, to crush the cooked agave, infusing the spirit with authenticity. Crafted exclusively from 100% espadin agaves in the heart of Tlacolula, Oaxaca, this mezcal embodies harmony, presenting subtle nuances of smoke, agave essence, herbal undertones, and delightful hints of sweet caramel. Its conclusion leaves a dry finish, leaving behind lingering, memorable notes.

At Amador Whiskey Company, we partner with the finest distillers to create small batch, luxury whiskies. Amador Double Barrel is a classic low rye bourbon aged in new charred American oak barrels for 3 years, which creates flavors of vanilla, black cherry, caramel. It is then finished in former medium toast French Oak Cabernet barrels for 9–12 months, which provides additional vanilla notes and a smooth mouthfeel. The “Double Barrel” aging technique creates characteristics from the individual barrels that are then blended together to make an exceptional tasting Bourbon, far greater than the sum of its parts.

TASTING NOTES

Deep copper brown color with red hue from Cabernet wine barrels. Flavors of vanilla and toast lead the way, then a crescendo of caramel, crème brûlée, and spice take over and linger in its long finish. Rich, complex, and layered.

Distilled at the Ardnamurchan Distillery nestled in Glenbeg, Scotland's Western Highlands, Ardnamurchan Highland Scotch embodies a unique blend of 50% peated and 50% unpeated malted barley, meticulously crafted within copper pot stills. Aged in a marriage of ex-bourbon (65%) and ex-sherry (35%) casks without a specified age, this whisky reveals an enticing nose of nutmeg, toffee apple, Seville oranges, and hints of driftwood. On the palate, vibrant notes of grapefruit marmalade and flamed orange peel intertwine with sweet soy sauce and ripe peach, culminating in a finish boasting warming Sichuan peppercorn and campfire smoke. With no added coloring, this non-chill filtered expression maintains a robust 46.8% ABV, subject to slight variations across batches. Distilled within one of Scotland's eco-conscious distilleries, each bottle features a blockchain-enabled QR code, offering a comprehensive journey through the whisky's origins, from grain to bottle.

Maker Notes

This limited bottling of rum we blend and age in house, designed specifcally to infuence the barrels used in our Solera system. Our ex-bourbon casks are filled with this rum to impart its characteristics into the oak then emptied out. The now rum soaked barrels are used in producing our awarded Doc Swinson’s Alter Ego Solera Method Rye Whiskey. When explaining how we make our own blend of rums for the solera system we kept getting asked; “but where does the rum go?” So here it is! A limited offering for 2022.

Sensory Notes: A unique rum with expressive notes of citrus and holiday spice cake, silky with a punch straight or bold enough for a solid rum drink

Nose: Pineapple, apricot, whipped honey butter, tropical fruits and toasted oak

Taste: Pineapple rinds, apricots, caramel, cedar, palm sugar

Palate: Nice juniper presence that is perfectly complemented with light citrus notes and hints of toasted spice. It finishes long and rounds out nicely with a touch of warm spices.
