Inspired by a long line of Douglas Laing family Fox Terriers, Scallywag Malt Scotch Whisky is a marriage of aged Speyside Single Malts matured predominantly in Spanish Sherry casks. The resulting Whisky reveals an explosion of rich, dark fruits, chocolate and spice interwoven with late vanilla. Award-winning Scallywag is bottled and released in genuinely small, precious batches. Scallywag is a Small Batch bottling created using only the finest Speyside Malts including - amongst others - Mortlach, Macallan and Glenrothes. Bottled at 46% alcohol strength and non-chill-filtered, this Small Batch bottling has a distinct rich, dark colour - extracted purely from the fine Spanish Sherry Butts used during maturation.

Tasting Notes: SWEETLY SPICED, ZESTY AND RICH.

Nose: A richly spiced character woven into delicious vanilla.

Palate: Detect layer on layer of sweet stewed fruits and dark chocolate fused with nutmeg and cinnamon, much of which can be attributed to years slumbering in Spanish Sherry butts.

As we have bedded in our new distillery, we have sought the true expression of Torabhaig. Through tireless trial and dialogue, then using the findings to inform each batch, we have evolved a distinctive signature style, our own flavour profile that we describe as Well-Tempered Peat.

This distillery signature will be the foundation upon which we build our legacy, and we look forward to witnessing this style develop over our first four expressions to be released under the Legacy Series label, as we dig deeper into the complexity of the flavour of peat to deliver truly exceptional and balanced character.

This is the second expression of Torabhaig Single Malt, available from July 2021 under the label ‘Allt Gleann – The Legacy Series’, bottled in small batches drawn from no more than 30 casks each.

Claxton's Exclusive Speyside 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a premium expression from the revered Speyside region. Aged for 18 years, it boasts a rich golden hue and enticing aromas of honey, ripe fruits, and oak. On the palate, flavors of vanilla, toffee, and orchard fruits mingle with subtle spices, culminating in a smooth, velvety finish. This whisky is a testament to Speyside's craftsmanship and is sure to delight discerning whisky enthusiasts with its complexity and quality.

Longrow, crafted at Springbank Distillery, undergoes double distillation and is heavily peated, resulting in a distinctive Campbeltown smokiness. The malt is dried with peat for up to 48 hours.

This 21-year-old Longrow pays homage to tradition and exemplifies patience. It has matured for two decades and a year in superior sherry and bourbon casks, allowing the whisky to develop its profound and alluring smokiness. Take a moment to savor it in your glass, and you'll be rewarded with a deep, comforting smokiness and a luxurious, warming finish.

Campbeltown, the whisky capital of the world
Campbeltown has three fully operational single malt distilleries all located in the town itself, this makes it one of Scotland’s recognized whisky-producing regions. The town is situated on the Kintyre peninsula, near the famous Mull of Kintyre, some 240 km from Glasgow. It is a historic Royal Burgh and has been occupied for over 8000 years. Once home to a big fishing fleet, there were also no less than 34 legal distilleries established here during the 19th century, earning the town the nickname “The Whisky Capital of the World”. By 1925, with the closing of the Reichlachan and Glengyle Distillery, Springbank and Glen Scotia were the only distilleries left.  The opening of Mitchells Glengyle Distillery on 25th March 2004 increased the number of distilleries in Campbeltown to three, allowing the town to legitimately reclaim its place amongst the great whisky producing regions.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Opens up to reveal citrus notes, vanilla cheesecake, rhubarb and custard sweets with delicate peat smoke.

Palate: Freshly baked Bramley apple pie and sweet salted caramel. The peat is prolific yet well integrated. A fresh coastal influence evokes memories of a blustery, busy, sea sprayed harbour.

Finish: Long and creamy. Notes of toasted oak and pencil shavings give way to a lasting sweet, fruity peat smoke.

Maker Notes

Second in our five-part Sherry Wood Series, this 2023 Edition whisky has been matured for six years in Bourbon casks followed by 4 years in Palo Cortado Sherry hogsheads made from Spanish oak.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: There are notes of parma violets, buttercream icing and peaches on the nose, along with hints of cola and grated ginger.

Palate: Soft peat smoke comes through on the palate, complemented by notes of red velvet cake, strawberry laces and icing sugar.

Finish: There is a waxiness in the finish with notes of orange rind and the continuation of the peat smoke.

Maker Notes

Our neighbouring harbour village of Portsoy inspires the deep maritime flavour of this richly peated single malt. Matured in sherry, bourbon and port casks, over time the full-bodied depth of Glenglassaugh Portsoy grows, harmoniously balanced with the rich coastal character of our peated spirit.

TASTING NOTES

COLOUR: Deep amber

NOSE: Rich maritime waves infused with tropical fruit and sherried dark soy, rolling into port with liquorice and sea kelp.

TASTE: Full-bodied with dark chocolate, fermented soy and charred mango with treacle and a crack of sea salt.

In years long passed, distillery workers would help themselves to a dram using a ‘copper dog’; a pipe hidden inside the leg of their trousers. These rascals are the inspiration for this unique blend of no fewer than eight Speyside single malt whiskies, slowly married together in old oak casks for a minimum of three months. Copper Dog Blended Scotch Whiskey is an easy-drinking scotch with ripe fruit aromas and a delicately spicy finish.

TASTING NOTES

NOSE: On the nose, fresh fruit and toffee apple; an integration of ripe orchard fruits (apples and pears), berries, and a hint of citrus, layered above a background of sweet wood and creamy vanilla fudge.

PALATE: Fresh and fruity, some malty notes with hints of wood (mainly vanilla) and spice. The balance of wood is equally important; it has allowed these important distillery characters to come to the fore, amplifying their subtlety, whilst giving us creamy vanilla and delicate spice notes and tannins.

This exceptional expression with notes of dark cherries and Medjool date has an initial sweetness on the palate, with a nostalgic medley of vanilla, apple and nutmeg. The resplendent red walnut hue is attributed to more than a quarter of a century of maturation in a first fill sherry seasoned European oak butt cask. A single cask of The Macallan Fine & Rare was filled on the 20th of January 1997 and bottled over 26 years later. The largest assembly of vintage-dated, single malt whiskies in the world, this Collection is a celebration of place and moment in time, creating a rare opportunity to explore those that have come before us.

1997 THE YEAR THAT WAS
In the annals of Hollywood history, 1997 stands out as a momentous year, marked by record-breaking films and iconic franchises gracing the silver screen. As Hollywood became an adored American export, 1997 marked a historic milestone for The Macallan, with international sales surpassing domestic for the first time, prominently led by the thriving U.S. market. In homage to this transformative year, The Macallan proudly presents its 1997 Fine & Rare release, capturing the essence of that landmark year.

THE EXPERIENCE

COLOUR: Resplendent red walnut

NOSE: Rich fruit aromas of dark cherries, Medjool dates and raisins are on the nose, accompanied by warming cinnamon, sticky toffee pudding and aged oak.

PALATE: An initial sweetness on the palate with a nostalgic medley of vanilla, apple and nutmeg gives way to an intense, rich oak with a depth of spice notes, warming aniseed and clove.

FINISH: Long and luxurious with a gentle caress of spices, sweetness and antique oak.

The GlenAllachie Speyside 2011 Single Cask Scotch Whisky is a fine expression from one of Speyside's esteemed distilleries. Crafted under the guidance of master distiller Billy Walker, it offers a rich aroma of honey, vanilla, and ripe fruits, with a hint of oak and spice. On the palate, flavors of honey, caramel, orchard fruits, and citrus zest intertwine, leading to a satisfying finish. This whisky showcases the depth and complexity of Speyside malt, making it a delightful choice for both seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers to Scotch whisky.

A sought-after single malt, the truest to Speyside’s iconic flavour profile. Longmorn’s 2023 annual release 18 year old was aged in barrels and hogsheads. A single batch single malt whisky, produced at one moment in time to capture our signature style.

Tasting notes: This whisky reveals rich tasting notes of toffee apples, apricots and fresh tropical fruit before a subtly sweet finish of creamy milk chocolate.

Further matured, further refined, further perfected to create a rich depth that expands upon that classic Speyside style. Longmorn’s 2023 annual release 22 year old was aged in a carefully curated selection of barrels and hogsheads. A single batch single malt whisky, produced at one moment in time to capture the depth and complexity of our signature style.

Tasting notes: This rare single malt balances tasting notes of hazelnut praline and luscious toffee with delicate citrus and poached pears for a sweet and smooth finish.

The Bruichladdich Thirty has spent the entirety of its maturation life in handpicked, exceptionally rare ex-Bourbon casks. A limited and refined single malt Scotch whisky, The Bruichladdich Thirty is bottled at 43% bringing the sweetness of toasted oak, honey and soft vanilla to the fore.

Delicate yet complex, a hint of dark chocolate complements the spirit’s elegant floral profile while the gentle influence of sea air lingers – a subtle nod to the whisky’s all Islay maturation.

TASTING NOTES

COLOUR: Pale Gold.

NOSE: The gentle influence of oak opens on the nose, bringing notes of coconut, wild gorse flowers, Brazil nuts and a hint of vanilla. Subtle floral notes of geranium and rose are paired with pear drops and candied lemons, with soft spices and a whisper of cinnamon complementing Bruichladdich’s signature maritime character.

PALATE: The delicate sweetness of toasted oak comes to the fore, followed by light fruits, honey, fudge and a hint of leather. The gentle floral profile opens with time, revealing an immense depth of flavour. The American oak shapes the softness of the flavour, with the delicate salty tang of fresh Islay sea air unmistakable on the palate.

FINISH: The spirit’s all-Islay maturation significantly influences the finish, with a vibrant tang of sea salt balanced with warm oak, while soft vanilla and sweet coconut lingers.

Matured in a combination of Bourbon barrels and Oloroso Sherry Butts.

DESCRIPTION
Small Batch Release - Latest Batch 11 -Added to the range in 2015, The 36 year old edition is vibrant, fruity and floral on the nose, with aromas of tropical fruits layered with winter spices from the Oloroso Sherry butts. Rich yet sweet on the palate, the fruity tones develop into oaky flavours of raw heather honey and roasted chestnuts. The depth of this whisky is reflected in its remarkably long finish with waves of fruit fading to an enticing winter spice finish. A very special dram indeed.

Glen Elgin distillery typically produces whisky with a light fruity character which works well with a variety of cask types. The Cadenhead’s team felt that Manzanilla casks would add an interesting complexity to this expression. With just over a year spent in Manzanilla, notes of almonds, battenberg cake, salted caramel and melon have been welcomed.

The Guard Bridge is the New Blended Malt Whisky from Eden Mill - a unique blend of aged single malts including our own Eden Mill St Andrews single malt, expertly selected and married by our Head Distiller, Scott Ferguson.

The name is inspired by the original 15th century six-arched Guard Bridge that connected St Andrews with its old trading port of Guardbridge. Symbolically, a bridge is a connection between one thing and another - by bringing different single malts together, we have created a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky that seamlessly combines the sweet, grassy and floral profile of the Lowlands with the robust, spicy and fruity flavors found in Highland whiskies.

Enjoy the taste of creamy vanilla with barley sugar and a cereal sweetness leading to mellow oaky spice and light sherry fruit. The whisky finishes with sherried fruit and light warm gingerbread.
