Smoke Wagon Straight Bourbon 4th of July Edition Whiskey 2023

Smoke Wagon

750 ml | 46.25% ABV
Whiskey | Bourbon

The goal behind the creation of this bourbon was to provide an affordable everyday option that showcases the distinct and unmistakable Smoke Wagon flavor. It features delicate sweet notes accompanied by a satisfying rye spice finish. To achieve this, barrels with a high rye mash bill were selected and stored on the top two floors of the warehouse without rotation. The higher temperatures on these floors during the summer led to increased expansion and interaction with the wood, resulting in a bourbon that is exceptionally rich and creamy for its age. The deliberate decision to avoid barrel rotation ensures a smooth and balanced flavor profile without any harsh tannin notes, while the high rye mash bill adds a delightful touch of spiciness and nuttiness to the finish.

Maker Notes - The Story of Our Smoke Wagon Bottles

The raised imagery of desert sage, the Nevada state flower, can be found on the Silver Dollar bottle as well as the amber Smoke Wagon bottles and in the label of the Straight Bourbon.

The Morgan silver dollar (replicated on the bottle's face) was minted in Carson city, the state capitol. It is the perfect symbol and name for our vodka due to its Nevada significance and the fact that silver dollar vodka is silver filtered.

Smoke Wagon? Does that mean it's smokey? Smoke Wagon is actually old west slang for the 1873 Colt single action army revolver or "the gun that won the west". Our logo stamped in wax consists of two crossed Smoke Wagons over the state of Nevada. Below it is our motto and a quote from Seneca, bibamus moriendum est. The literal translation is "drink, for we must die" but the meaning is more along the lines of, drink and enjoy today because we won't be around forever. We can only assume Seneca meant to drink responsibly, of course.

Mayenda Blanco Tequila

Mayenda

750 ml | 40% ABV
Tequila | Blanco

A rich, complex, and elegant sipping tequila, Mayenda Tequila Blanco is carefully crafted at Casa San Nicolas. The pioneering process employed involves two additional steps of craftsmanship and attention to extract enhanced flavors from the agave plant.

Each small batch of Mayenda Tequila Blanco aims to capture the aromatic, caramelized notes of the agave that are typically lost during production.

The outcome is a distinctive sipping experience that showcases the essence of the agave, revealing unexplored flavors from its core.

From the transformation of liquid to the creation of the bottle, Mayenda is the result of a community of skilled artisans. It is a creation guided by the passion and precision of Maestro Tequilero Jesus Susunaga and his team in Arandas, Jalisco. Their singular goal is to produce tequila of the utmost quality.

For optimal enjoyment, Mayenda Tequila Blanco is best savored at room temperature as a straight pour, ideally in a Riedel Ouverture Glass.

To enhance the tasting experience with more richness and intensity, we suggest pairing it with both a raw and a roasted pineapple wedge, lightly dipped in pink Himalayan salt. Take a sip of Mayenda Tequila, followed by a small bite of the raw pineapple wedge, and repeat the process with the roasted pineapple. This allows you to discern the distinct flavors and aromas that each pineapple variation can accentuate in the tequila.

DEAU Napoleon Cognac

This grand cognac is a reflection of the talent and expertise of our cellar masters, both in the selection of mature eaux-de-vie and in their blending. A long aging process is required to make this Napoléon, specially created for aficionados of spirits and cigars.

Warm, rich aromas of vanilla, roasted coffee and dark chocolate followed by spices. On the palate, the full and rich taste fulfills all expectations, striking a remarkable balance between notes of rancio, saffron, candied fruit with dried apricot, cinnamon and dark tobacco on the finish.  Pairs perfectly with your favorite cigar. A rich orange caramel color.

The origins of Deau Cognac began over 300 years ago, when a young entrepreneur, Louis Deau, became a master of the cognac trade, producing exquisite cognacs in the Cognac region. The tradition of Deau Cognac is carried on today by Distillerie Des Moisans, which was founded by Roland Bru in 1962 and has been owned by the Bru Legaret family for three generations. The estate has remained independent from the large cognac houses and is currently run by the founder’s daughter, Veronique Bru Legaret who today presides over the destiny of the DEAU Cognac House. An expert in the art market, she recognizes the nobility of the brand, and its symbolic Griffin, that she has known since childhood. Three centuries after Louis Deau's first creations, she has bought back the old eaux-de-vie and preserved this treasure trove in Les Moisans.

The Moisans estate is passionate about their terroir and vineyards and gives great care to creating the wines that will become Deau Cognac. It is thanks to the land and the vines that the family history carries on. The estate is located in the Petit Champagne region of Cognac, an area renowned for its fine brandies. The main grape variety is Ugni Blanc, which yields lively, fresh wines which are ideal for making cognac. Located in a small hamlet in Sireuil (between Cognac and Angoulême), the estate includes the distillery, the aging cellars, a bottling building, and the offices – something rare enough in Cognac to be emphasized! This proximity of all the processes allows the Moisans estate to always keep careful control over the quality and customer service.

The distillery is a splendid cathedral-like building with twelve Charentais stills that continuously distill from October through March of the following year. The slow heating process of the still combined with double distillation produces eaux-de-vie of unrivalled quality. Double distillation allows the distillery to keep only the aromatic “hearts” of the eaux-de-vie, guaranteeing the high quality of the Cognac. The cellar master of Distillerie Des Moisans personally supervises the meticulous work of distillation. Through his talent and expertise, he gives Deau Cognacs the personality and characteristics that are dear to the Bru Legaret family.

The aging cellars are located on the banks of the Charentes River, in niches of limestone concentration, imparting the ideal humidity for slow and harmonious maturation.

DEAU XO Cognac

DEAU XO is Distillerie Des Moisans’ flagship product. The beauty of this XO lies in its blend of very old eaux-de-vie, mostly from the Petite Champagne and Fins Bois sub-regions, carefully aged in our cellars for at least 10 years in Limousin oak barrels.

The four words that best describe this lovely XO cognac are smoothness, harmony, richness and generosity. The Deau XO Cognac is truly an “Haute Couture” cognac.

On the nose, indulge in its floral and fruity universe with linden, orange blossom, litchi, and prune. On the palate, it is richly aromatic with seductive and delicate notes of walnut, cocoa, and fig. The finish combines fine spices, cigar box, licorice, and nutmeg, making for a rare and perfectly mastered blend. A refined golden color with glints of copper.

Ardbeg Bizarrebq The Ultimate Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Ardbeg

750 ml | 50.9% ABV
Whiskey | Scotch

You start with a hare-brained idea, you bring together three unique casks, two masters in their own right, and a whole lot of heat and smoke… what do you get? You get the Distillery’s first ever barbecue-inspired whisky – Ardbeg BizarreBQ. Cooked up by renowned Master Distiller, Dr Bill Lumsden, alongside bona-fide god of the grill, Christian Stevenson (AKA DJ BBQ), this mouth-watering malt packs a meaty, peaty punch.

The same way it is with grilling, there’s one vital element in creating our first BBQ-inspired malt – fire. Toasting a selection of three casks, double charred oak casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and BBQ casks, this combined recipe comes together to bring a sweet, tangy, smoky flavour… perfect for BBQ!

Non-chill filtered.

Aroma

Puffs of charcoal and soot mingle with smoky wood and aromatic herbs and spices. Treacle toffee, hickory smoked ham and cinnamon-dusted espresso rise up. A splash of water releases distinctively sharp citrus aromas, along with herbal notes such as fennel and aniseed. Grilled artichokes and a suggestion of seared meat sizzles the senses. The undeniable smell of bonfire and BBQ embers lingers in the background.

Taste

The mouthfeel is alive with spice, like BBQ ribs smothered in chilli. A myriad of deep, warming smoke follows close behind in flame-grilled steak, chilli oil, cured leather and clove. Ginger, aniseed and tar crackle on the palate with an aromatic woodsmoke edge.

Finish

The massive, hot aftertaste lingers on and on, with more grilled artichoke, black olives and a sooty note that slowly simmers away.

Maker Notes

From barrel to bottle, Hand Barrel was established to bring you a whiskey experience unlike any other. We sought to create a vessel that was unique, sleek, and unlike anything else in the industry; a contemporary take on a centuries-old American pastime that would also protect the vital liquid gold inside. Once the bottle was perfected, we sought out a handcrafted bourbon that would match our bottle in quality.

There are a thousand small, yet critical decisions that go into making a batch of bourbon. Each and every step of Hand Barrel’s process has been considered and deliberate; from the territory of distillation, the mix of grains utilized in our mash bill, the height at which our barrels are matured in the rickhouse, and the individual barrels selected for each bottling run. The resulting product, true in character, rich and authentic, is exactly how we like our bourbon.

Whether it’s our unique mash bill, our #4 alligator charred barrels that impart spice and complexity, or our non-chill filtered process, we are constantly searching for the X factor that will elevate Hand Barrel to the next level.

The Brollach Single Malt Irish Whisky

The Brollach Whisky

750 ml | 46.44% ABV
Whiskey | Irish

Available for Pre-Order! Arriving June 20

Building on a tradition of handcrafted record-breaking, award-winning whiskeys, The Brollach is a whiskey of a lifetime. Born from the bond between a father and his son, it is the culmination of a search for an exceptionally rare whiskey of exquisite flavour, that would honour family, Ireland and Irish whiskey.

AN IRISH HEART

Tumbling down from the Cooley Mountains comes fresh spring water, filtered through limestone, basalt and granite. The finest Irish barley, golden with promise, interplays with the water in an intricate balance of sugar and alcohol, presenting an outstanding quality whiskey.

AN IRISH SOUL

Intricate layers of flavour interweave with one another, just as family and history weave through each of us. Apricot and butterscotch on the nose bring to mind a velvety tarte tatin, while dark cherry adds a sour tang, melting into an intimate, intense dark chocolate. A mellow finish of caramelised banana lingers long after the first sip.

A RARE WHISKEY EXPERIENCE

The heavy grain of the natural oak draws the eye firmly to the stainless steel clasps. As if peeling away the layers of history, another box appears. The precious liquid is held securely in the determined, solid silhouette of the glass bottle that sits on an oak plinth. Finn glasses emerge from dark suede, a steel drawer conceals the anodised silver and glass pipette; perfectly engineered to deliver an optimum droplet of water, releasing the full intricacies of The Brollach’s intense flavours.

INSIDE THE BROLLACH

Inside The Brollach’s raw oak box lies the carefully conceived accompaniments to raise the experience to its peak. Two Finn glasses allow you to raise a glass with a companion, after delivering the perfect drop of water from the anodised silver and glass pipette. The drawer opens to reveal four obsidian whiskey stones, a vial of Irish Spring water and one of The Brollach, allowing you to taste the rare Irish craft whiskey while saving the main bottle as an investment.

AWARDS

Launched on Father’s Day 2021, The Brollach is a prize whiskey that won its first award just a month later. Two prestigious Master medals from The Spirits Business Irish Whiskey Masters and Luxury Masters have set The Brollach on the same award-winning path as The Devil’s Keep.
