Having made their long journey across the Atlantic ocean to Ireland, the ex-Pinot Noir casks from Quails’ Gate were filled with Green Spot. These were left to mature further for approximately 16 months in Midleton Distillery’s famous warehouses. The whiskey was tasted monthly to ensure that the perfect marriage of Still Pot whiskey, wine notes and wood was achieved.

Celebrating Irish heritage, the collaboration between Green Spot and Quails’ Gate is not just the coming together of two unique stories, it is the fusion of two fascinating histories that as one deliver an exceptional whiskey.

Green Spot Quails' Gate is the third edition in the Wine Geese series. Matured in American oak and ex-sherry casks, the liquid was then finished for 16 months in Pinot Noir casks to impart a delicate red wine bouquet to the nose, with notes of ripe cherry and juicy raspberries.

Nose
Vibrant oak fused with notes of ripe cherry and fresh, juicy raspberry, elevated by the wine seasoning. These aromas are in balance with Green Spot’s signature orchard fruits of apple and sweet pear. The earthy, woodland spices lend themselves to the deep and complex characteristics found interwoven amongst the sweet vanilla and red wine bouquet.

Taste
It begins with a silky and sweet mouthcoating texture, with the wine`s soft tannins gradually showing their presence. Notes of dried cranberries and red apple follow, adding to the ever expanding array of fruits in this wonderfully complex whiskey. Clove spice and grated nutmeg work in balance with the succulent fruits, seasoned oak and crisp barley.

Finish
The toasted wood and pot still spices gently fade, with the fruits and red wine seasoning taking the final bow.

Maker Notes

The whisky has been matured in ex-Sherry and Bourbon Casks and is bottled at 46% Vol without chill filtration or the addition of any colouring.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich oak with a gentle nutmeg note. Sweeter aromas of baked ripe figs, sultanas and black cherries.  

Palate: Fruit cake with toasted almonds and cinnamon. The juicy zestiness of oranges and mandarins mellows perfectly with manuka honey, muscovado sugar, baked apricots and an interesting white pepper note that provides even more complexity.

Finish: Creamy and spicy with dark chocolate, walnuts and dark fruits compote.

SIX FACETS, ONE COOPERAGE

No. 6 brings together the art of whisky making with Lalique exquisite craftsmanship to create a stunning whisky encased in the finest crystal decanter. This rich, complex single malt takes its unique natural color and character from first fill sherry seasoned oak casks from Spain, handcrafted by the master craftsmen of Jerez de la Frontera, the home of sherry. The casks are taken from a single cooperage in order to ensure the infinite quality and character at the heart of this rich single malt. The cooperage exclusively creates Spanish oak casks which, once seasoned with sherry, create the unique flavor of this exquisite whisky. Rich in spice and dried fruit with a layer of heady orange groves, this is an enticing, dark, whisky that delivers classic Macallan character.

THE EXPERIENCE

COLOUR: Spanish Sunset

NOSE: Raisin, dates and figs dominate whilst sultana and toffee apples add texture and depth. The weight of flavour from the raisins is dark and rich with great viscosity. Dry ginger and soft cinnamon hint at the edges the edges. Dark chocolate is majestic, vanilla sweetness lingers in the background.

PALATE: Heavy and sumptuous. A rich fruit cake of raisin, dates and figs, apples, sultanas, orange then ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and hints of clove. Oak notes are like velvet, soft and chic.

FINISH: Silky smooth with a long and full finish.

Blanton’s Gold Edition was created for discerning bourbon aficionados who appreciate exceptional smoothness and complexity in their bourbon whiskey. The nose is first marked by spicy rye and tobacco notes.  Caramel and honey follow soon after, mingled with dark fruit and citrus notes. The palate emulates the same complex nose with rye, tobacco, and honey at the forefront. Round and bold notes of charred oak and vanilla carry you through to an extremely long and harmonious finish. This bourbon consistently delivers on balance and character, on par with the world’s finest whiskey. Best served neat or with a splash of water. Bottled at 51.5% alcohol by volume.

PINEAU DES CHARENTES - The Coastal Series
Pineau des Charentes offers a lighter, sweeter taste layered on signature Old Pulteney flavours, delivering a truly wonderful dram.

Cask Maturation
Old Pulteney Pineau des Charentes is a no-age statement whisky, and making it has been an adventure in itself. As our Distillery Manager Malcolm Waring explains: ‘Under my watch, the casks are opened when I feel they are ready. The result is a beautiful sweetness that perfectly complements Old Pulteney’s signature saltiness, delivering in the same way as an older expression.
As you can probably tell, we’re justifiably proud of our new Pineau des Charentes single malt. But if you need another reason to try it, we can think of a few. Its bronze colour and fragrant aroma of honey, stewed fruits and toasted spices. A lingering, sweet and nutty taste that gives way to a coastal finish that’s almost savoury. It’s an unforgettable take on the Maritime Malt.

TASTING NOTES

Appearance: Bronze with a pink hue.

Aroma: Fragrant and rich with honey sweetness and vanilla at the base. Intense fruitiness starts jammy and stewed and develops into candied oranges and sticky balsamic raisins. Hints of toasted spices and powder pepper complete this stunning profile.

Taste: A lingering finish showcases notes of caramelised hazelnuts and ground spices, broadening in sweetness, and then drying ever so slowly towards a savoury finale of coastal minerality.

With a history steeped in expertise, Orphan Barrel has meticulously selected and matured this whisky for 14 years, allowing its flavors to mature and evolve. A classic for nearly 100 years, Buchanan’s 12-year old whisky is one of the world’s most iconic and awarded luxury Scotch whisky brands. Originally called Buchanan’s Finest Liqueur, James Buchanan personally consulted and approved the blend, which has a soft and fresh profile that separates it from other more dense whisky profiles.

KENTUCKY STRAIGHT RYE WHISKEY FINISHED IN TOASTED CHERRY WOOD AND OAK BARRELS

A celebration of innovation, our rye whiskey is finished in hybrid American oak and cherry wood barrels for up to 6 months. Alternating cherry wood and oak staves toasted to custom specifications in the second finishing barrel, provide this 95% rye with unique bursts of flavor and represents the best of our collaborative, creative spirit.

KENTUCKY STRAIGHT BOURBON WHISKEY

Our 7 year release of Vertical Series Rye is paired with Tiz Rye Time, son of Tiznowout and Shanon Nicole, by Majestic Warrior

Blended from just 28 barrels, this 7-year-old rye is the most limited release in the Vertical Series to date. A lively nose of caramel, orange zest, cedar, and clove move to a powerful palate of chocolate, root beer, cardamom, and tobacco.

The Vertical Series explores the true impact of age on a whiskey’s character by following a single group of MGP barrels as they mature from four to 12 years. With each vintage, the proof is set to best showcase the unique attributes of that year’s blend. This unprecedented series of annual limited releases lets whiskey lovers experience the arc of flavors throughout a nine-year journey.

Sherry Cask 'The Bodega' is a stunning new addition to our core range of whiskies and is the perfect choice for someone who enjoys their Single Malt with plenty of body and complexity. Matured in some of the finest casks available to the whisky industry, this cask strength Sherry matured Single Malt is both luxurious and elegant with layers of rich sweet spice and oak. Our Master Distiller has worked with producers in some of the most prestigious Sherry Bodegas in Jerez, Spain to select only the best quality casks to be filled with our precious spirit. This bottling is a return to the style of some of the earliest Arran Single Malt, which was mostly matured in Sherry Casks. During a tasting, this expression is the perfect partner to our Quarter Cask 'The Bothy' as it showcases the skill and expertise of our Master Distiller in his work with different wood types and supreme cask selection.

Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon is finished in port wine casks for an award-winning spirit. We guide each batch’s conditioning, blending our handcrafted bourbon in small batches of 8 to 12 barrels at a time.

It’s typically aged for up to 6 years. While we lose about 5% of the spirit each year to evaporation, or “the Angel’s Share,” what’s left behind after we’re done is truly worthy of envy.

Once it’s deemed ready, we finish our bourbon in ruby port wine casks, which adds subtly distinct flavor nuances that enhance the whiskey without challenging it. Our port finishing process lasts between three to six months, depending on taste.

We use 60-gallon ruby port barrels made from French oak and imported directly from Portugal. This creates a whiskey of unprecedented smoothness, sweetness and balance.

Appearance: Gold color laced with reddish amber hues, nearly copper in tone

Nose: You’ll detect notes of subtle vanilla, raisins, maple syrup and toasted nuts

PALATE: Vanilla, ripe fruit, maple syrup, toast and bitter chocolate

FINISH: Clean and lingering sweetness with a hint of Madeira that slowly fades
