This rare bottling of superior vintage whiskey is enhanced by the use of a four grain (corn, wheat, rye, and malted barley) bourbon mashbill which was then barreled in freshly charred oak barrels, and exposed to prolonged cold storage aging in a low-rise warehouse in Northern Canada. Add to this our commitment to non-chill filter and bottle at a cask strength of 119.7 proof, and the result is a truly exceptional pour, with flavors of massive proportion.

Maker Notes

Double Wheat combines two of Old Elk’s most beloved and awarded wheater whiskeys: Old Elk Straight Wheat Whiskey and Old Elk Wheated Bourbon Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Thus creating an entirely unique pour. This is a merger for the more, yielding a higher proof (107.1) and a brighter profile whiskey in which a whole new category begs to be crafted.

CHARACTER: With a quiet complexity, Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2014 showcases the delicate balance of fruit and smoke which the single malt is renowned for.

COLOUR: Light amber

NOSE: Malty digestive biscuits and peat embers open on the nose, followed by sweet vanilla and notes of honey, toffee and Crème Brûlée. As the whisky breathes its fruity character comes to the fore, with lemon rind and peat smoke rising from the glass, moving to grapefruit, ripe melon, peach and crisp red apple. Port Charlotte’s signature maritime note is offset with a touch of wood spice, nutmeg and cinnamon, showcasing the depth and complexity of this single malt.

PALATE: An initial citrus tang is followed by sweet ripe fruit and gentle peat smoke. A subtle marine character comes through, with this sandy minerality complemented with toasted oak. On a second sip, the balance of fruit and smoke is unmistaken, with a medley of apricot, peach and ripe melon delicately wrapped in charred heather and peat embers. The maturation in American bourbon barrels brings lightly toasted oak notes, with a hint of coconut, creamy marzipan and tobacco.

FINISH: Soft stoned fruit and toasted oak sweetness leave a beautifully balanced finish, while a subtle, dry barbeque smoke lingers.

Since opening its doors in 2017, The Block Distilling Co. has focused half of its efforts on crafting premium whiskey. This exceptional single malt whisky has been created by The Macallan Master Whisky Maker, Kirsteen Campbell to reflect the character of James Bond. A force of nature defined by his Scottish heritage, he carries himself with modesty and humility. 

Like James Bond, the expression exudes a sense of style and maturity which has evolved over the years. The whisky is consistent within all six bottles.

DECADE V
Leaving the 90s behind, Daniel Craig embodies the Bond of the noughties. From his first appearance in Casino Royale, never was a card game presented so stylishly and with more tension in any other film. The setting, ingredients, character and dedication to craft combine to deliver an utterly compelling result. 

The packaging design features a dramatic car sequence from Casino Royale (2006), and a digitally sketched rooftop chase in Quantum Of Solace (2008).

Rare Cask Series - Independent bottlings are for whisky aficionados who want to experience traditional distillery expressions in untraditional ways. This unique Strathmill was aged in a single cask its entire life. Non-chill filtered, no color added, bottled at cask strength, limited to 243 bottles exclusive to the USA. Strathmill Distillery is located in Speyside and was founded in 1892 as Glenisla-Glenlivet. Strathmill uses a long fermentation regime to help create fruitiness. Strathmill is primarily distilled for the famous J&B Rare Blended Scotch Whisky. Very little 100% Strathmill has been bottled and labeled with the distillery name on it and even more rare, is a 15-year-old. Please share it with those who will appreciate its rarity.

About Doocot

Inspiration for the name of our new Single Malt came from the heart of our distillery at Kingsbarns. During the renovations of the old farmstead that began in 2013, efforts were made to restore, not replace, many parts of the historic building. One of these was its oldest space: The Doocot.

Scottish for Dovecot, the Doocot sits at the centre of our Fife distillery and holds our first fill cask from March 2015. As a space that once acted as home for doves and pigeons, it has now transitioned to a home for our story, but with its history still very much intact. Our new flagship single malt has enjoyed a longer maturation in cask, maintaining balance and developing complexity. Purchase a bottle today and become a part of that story.
