Rum finished in spirits barrels that held maple syrup. Rich and complex with hints of smoky whiskey.

Mad River Maple Cask Rum begins its life as our First Run Rum, distilled from 100% demerara sugar. We trade barrels with syrup maker Al Wood, of Wood's Vermont Syrup Company, and he returns our rum barrels once he has finished crafting his rum barrel aged syrup. The First Run Rum is then transferred into these maple-cured barrels, and the result is a rum that is smooth and bright with a nose of tropical fruits and butterscotch flavors.

Color: Light Gold

Aroma: Rounded and smoky – like burning Applewood – with creamy toffee, aniseed, treacle and dates. A curious suggestion of juicy fruits, such as peach and banana. With a drop of water, reminders of Ardbeg’s classic fragrance – lime, pine resin, fennel, saddle soap and tar. A gentle waxiness, such as fragrant candle wax, and hints of smoked herbs. An Oa gives a final subtle reminder of the sea with briny notes and seaweed, accompanied by a delectable creaminess.

Tates: A smooth, creamy texture leads into a bold syrupy sweetness, flavours of milk chocolate, treacle toffee, aniseed, orange and smoky tea leaves. Gentle, sweet spices (nutmeg & cinnamon), some cigar smoke, and a unique note of grilled artichokes. Wood is always present in the spirit, gently nutty and reminiscent of a carpenter’s workshop.

Finish: Lingering, seductive, gentle yet intense, with flavours of aniseed, hickory and subtle smoke.

ARDBEG AN OA

Ardbeg An Oa’s rounded and subtly smoky aromas make it the prime spirit for toasting by the BBQ. With notes of thick cigar smoke, roasted tea leaves and grilled artichokes, this whisky is the perfectly peaty dance partner for your smoky culinary creations.

Cinnamon bark is the star in this clear whiskey with a hint of capsicum spice and subtle building heat on the finish.

Long lingering finish with a pleasant spicy reminder.

BLACK DIRT Rye is distilled from 100% NY rye grown in upstate New York.  The mash bill consists of 90% Rye and 10% malted rye.  100 proof with a dark amber color.  The whiskey is complex offering pronounced notes of caramel, rye spice with a chocolate and malt finish.  A great sipping rye and exceptional when mixed in cocktails.

A blended Bourbon Whiskey, balanced, robust and sweet. Combines big, bold flavors of 4 year bourbon with quaffable younger whiskeys. Gently charred oak complements bourbon’s vanilla notes with a dessert wash on the palate.

TASTING NOTES

NOSE: Moderate woodiness with caramel undertones and orange citrus.

FLAVOR: White oak, vanilla, citrus rind and stone fruit. Sugared toast and butterscotch mid-palate. On rocks, hints of dense vanilla and caramel.

Hedonism Felicitas draws together three grain whiskies, each distilled in a different decade. Vibrant & stately, its higher bottling strength delivers a wonderful concentration of flavour.

COMPANY ARCHIVES

From the middle of the 19th century, John Crabbie blended his own range of whiskies. In addition to procuring large stocks of Scottish single malt whisky, from some of the finest distilleries, Crabbie signed licences to produce his own whiskies at distilleries such as Balmanech and Benrinnes. However, his commitment to the field of whisky industry stretched further, as he became involved in the creation of one of Scotland’s most iconic grain distilleries, North British, sitting on its board in its formative years. Company archives reveal hand-written record of sales sheets to companies as far afield as New York, Buenos Aires, Constantinople, and St. Vincent.

Crabbie’s glory years span from the 1830s. These were pioneering times, and it seems John Crabbie and his successors were possessed of the same self-confidence as other famous explorers were responsible for building The British Empire. Using the Port of Leith in Edinburgh as its base, the company sent its products to the world – also seeking to bring the finest world products back to Scotland. Records show that its team of drinks makers was experimenting with a vast array of fruit, grains, herbs, spices and spirits – creating new and exciting beverages.

Yardhead is the single malt whisky designed for mixing as well as sipping. Exclusively bottled from first fill bourbon casks creates a versitile flavour profile – perfect for highballs and modern whisky cocktails.

Named after the site in Leith, Edinburgh, where John Crabbie’s original distillery was located.

Tasting Notes

Nose:  Green apples, fresh vanilla and biscuit notes

Crown Royal Wine Barrel Finished, the second expression in the Crown Royal Noble Collection showcases our Crown Royal Fine De Luxe Whisky, the standard of excellence for Canadian Whisky, finished in Cabernet Sauvignon wine barrels. The result is an intriguing new character that is still unmistakably Crown Royal.

TASTING NOTES

NOSE: Heavy fruit and butterscotch: black currant, cove, with dried blueberry.

PALATE: Caramel and butterscotch with red grapes and fermented grape leaves.

FINISH: Wood tannins: spice with anise and clove.

Maker Notes

Discover a Journey of taste with our new three-part collection - Lambay Single Malt - Reserve Cask Series.  Batch 01 is the first bottling to be released and is limited to just 10,000 bottles. Batch 02 and Batch 03 will follow in the coming years.

Batch 01 is a rich triple-distilled single malt, matured in bourbon barrels and finished in signature Camus cognac casks. Before bottling, the island’s Trinity Well water is added, to deliver this delicious single malt whiskey.

Lambay Single Malt is wholly finished in hand-selected French oak cognac casks.
Craft is key with our Lambay Single Malt as our selected casks are placed on Lambay Island to mature. This brings unique maritime notes of sea salt and iodine to these casks exposed to the fresh sea air.
Batch 01 contains a higher percentage of island matured Lambay Single Malt delivering a more intense salty note on the palette.
This Single Malt consists of both first fill and second fill cognac cask finishing to deliver a more intense mouthfeel of spice, tobacco, and pepper on the palette.
Blended with Single Malt from our Island warehouse, the whiskey has soft smoky attributes with slight salinity and a dry lingering finish that balances the rich oak and herb note.

O.F.C. VINTAGES

Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. christened the O.F.C. Distillery in 1870 and this legendary whiskey brand has been revered ever since.  The most state-of-the-art distillery of its era featured copper fermentation vats, column stills, and a first-of-its-kind steam heating system, still used in our aging warehouses today. This very rare and collectible bourbon honors the O.F.C. Distillery, a National Historic Landmark known today as Buffalo Trace Distillery. Each hand-cut crystal bottle is vintage dated according to the specific year in which the bourbon was distilled. Enjoy this whiskey of a bygone era, sourced from barrels of yesteryear.

TASTING NOTES

Tasting notes for this bourbon describe cherry cordial on the nose followed by caramel and slightly smoked-oak. Dark chocolate, tobacco leaves and dates are found on the palate, followed by a lingering finish of leather, black pepper and cinnamon.

Orphan Barrel Whiskey Distilling Company is a dedicated cause, acquiring some of the rarest casks from some of the finest whiskey cellars, and releasing them into the world as a cascade of limited edition, barrel-aged ambrosia. In 2013 bourbon and Tennessee whiskey were labeled the fastest growing product category by volume in the U.S. alcohol business. The Orphan bottling project was more or less an ingenious response to this boom in the whiskey industry, and an effort to accommodate the vast quantities of leftover product from their monopoly of acquisitions. When Diageo didn't have a place for the acquired product in their blends, they set the spirits aside. Time transformed this new spirit into aged delicacies. In 2013, Orphan Barrel Whiskey was created by Diageo, commercializing a large stock of ultra-aged American whiskeys that it had been maturing at the Stitzel-Weller distillery in Shively Kentucky. Orphan Barrel Muckety-Muck is a similar beast, except that it hails from across The Pond. Following in the footsteps of Forager's Keep 26 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, it's their first single grain Scotch and an equally well-aged one at 24 years. The spirit comes from the famous Port Dundas Distillery that operated for 2 centuries, until its closing in 2010. This liquid comes from the rare remaining stocks that offer a glimpse into the historic distillery.
