Pogues Irish Whiskey is produced by West Cork Distillers, an Independent distiller of Ireland. Inspired by "The Pogues" band, this whiskey is said to have the highest malt content of any blended Irish whiskey, containing 50% grain and 50% single malt liquid. Developed by renowned distillers Barry Walsh and Frank McHardy, this malty Irish drink has floral malty notes and elements of chocolate and citrus. "The Celtic punk band, originally named Pogue Mahone (from the Irish Gaelic "pg mo thin" meaning "kiss my arse") later became known as The Pogues. Formed in 1982 by frontman Shane MacGowan, the band were famed and admired for doing things their own way. Their rebellious nature, inspired use of traditional Irish instruments and poetic, often politically tinged lyrics led them to reach cult status in the 80s and early 90s" (producer). Pogues Irish whiskey is crafted in small batches, using only barley and spring water from the Emerald Isles. The nose has signature Irish whiskey notes of fresh barley, light honey notes, and a little brown butter. The palate offers few surprises, with lots of toasty, roasted grains, a touch of cloves, and just a little vanilla. This punk rock inspired release earned awards at the New York International Spirits Competition and World Whiskies Awards, as well as a Gold medal at the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. !

Maker Notes

This limited bottling of rum we blend and age in house, designed specifcally to infuence the barrels used in our Solera system. Our ex-bourbon casks are filled with this rum to impart its characteristics into the oak then emptied out. The now rum soaked barrels are used in producing our awarded Doc Swinson’s Alter Ego Solera Method Rye Whiskey. When explaining how we make our own blend of rums for the solera system we kept getting asked; “but where does the rum go?” So here it is! A limited offering for 2022.

Tullamore, in Ireland's Midlands, was once ruled by Clan O'Molloy. On May 10, 1785, a hot air balloon crash ignited a fire, leading to the world's first aviation disaster. The city adopted a phoenix as its coat of arms, symbolizing resilience. Tullamore DEW Distillery, founded 50 years later at the crash site, uses malted barley, unmalted barley, and corn to craft its whiskey. The grains are milled, mashed, and fermented in wooden washbacks. Triple distillation in copper-pot stills intensifies the alcohol content and flavors. Tullamore DEW 18 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey matures in Madeira, Oloroso, and Port casks, offering an aroma of malt, oak, apples, and tobacco, with a palate of tropical fruit, vanilla, butter, and a long sherry finish.

Before cocktails were cocktails and even before Scotch was Scotch, Drambuie has been a premium Scotch liqueur at the heart of great cocktails. In its native Gaelic, Drambuie means the drink that satisfies. Though the exact recipe has been a closely guarded secret since it was brought to Scotland in 1745, for the past 200 years, Drambuie has been made with aged Highland whisky, heather honey, herbs and spices.

Citrus oils and juniper berry tannins produce distinct citrus notes followed by notes of cracked black pepper for an overall round and mellow tone with a silky texture and celery salt finish. Try New Deal Gin No. 1 in a dirty martini, Bloody Mary, Silver Fizz or herbaceous sour.

High n’ Wicked is an importer and specialty bottler of exceptional whiskies. It was founded in 2019 by two former Brown-Forman senior executives, W. L. Lyons Brown, III and Kevin E. Sachs. Brown and Sachs worked together in the International Division in the 1990’s and were instrumental in building Jack Daniel’s and Southern Comfort in Europe and Asia.

The company features five year old Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Kentucky Straight Rye available year round. It will also offer unique, small production expressions of each annually, including cask strength, single barrel and double wood finishes. Some will carry greater age as the brands evolve.

High n’ Wicked also offers limited releases of American Bourbon, Single Malt Irish Whiskey and Single Grain Irish Whiskey. These “Singular Limited Releases” feature single barrels and expert double wood finishes that add layers of complexity to already superb distillates. The result is a wine featuring the best characteristics of Chardonnay, with fruit flavors, oak and acidity in harmony and balance.

Teaninich was founded and built in 1817 by Hugh Munro on his estate of Teaninich Castle, Alness. Despite an initial difficulty of procuring barley whisky owing to a high demand from illegal distilleries, by 1830 Teaninich produced 30 times more spirit than it did at its founding. The distillery suspended production between 1939 and 1946 due to barley shortages during World War II.

Today Teaninich plays an important role for its owner, Diageo, in providing a signnificant volume of single malt whisky for use in its blending operations – Teaninich is one of its largest players.

A relatively long fermentation time is utilised at Teaninich, as well as large ball-type stills with slightly downwardly sloping lynne arms. The result? A particularly wonderful grassy and somewhat oily spirit that is fantastic for blending, and more magical yet as a single malt.

In May 2010, expert jimadors from the Corazon Distillery began harvesting agave from the rolling hillsides of Arandas, which is situated in the Jalisco region of Mexico. Rather than clear-cutting the fields from the outset, the jimadors employed scientific tools in order to analyze the precise sugar content of the 80 tons of agave plants in Arandas. Once the sugar content had been determined, the jimadors combined agave with a low sugar content (a low sugar content will produce a tequila with a drier, more mineral flavor profile) together with agave with a high sugar content (a high sugar content will produce a tequila with a sweeter and more bold flavor profile) in order to produce a unique blanco tequila. Once the tequila had been produced, it was fractionated and matured in three unique types of casks: casks that had been previously used to mature Buffalo Trace Bourbon, casks that had previously been used to mature George T. Stagg Bourbon and casks that had previously been used to mature Sazerac Rye. Corazon Buffalo Trace Reposado Tequila is aged for over 10 months in casks that were previously used to mature Buffalo Trace Bourbon. It has an aroma of oak, caramelized agave and a hint of salty tang. Bold notes of fruits and agave dominate the flavor profile, and are complemented by touches of woody spices, black pepper and cinnamon. The finish is long and warming, with a touch of vanilla.
