INSPIRED BY THE FAMED MASKED WRESTLERS OF MEXICO, tequilero David Ravandi has created El Luchador, a unique, artisanal portfolio of outstanding tequila expressions: Still Strength Blanco, Blanco, Reposado and Anejo. Since his entrée into the artisanal tequila business in the mid-1990s, Ravandi has ushered several brands to international success. His El Luchador portfolio was inspired by the instantly recognizable - masks and the acrobatic showmanship of Mexico’s colorful lucha libre wrestlers. The connection between tequila and lucha libre - two of Mexico’s most treasured cultural institutions – represents a long-standing tradition, one that inspired El Luchador

El Luchador Anejo

We’ll release our Anejo which spends a total of fourteen to sixteen months resting in white oak barrels in 2022. That additional time in French white oak adds increasing layers of complexity with notes of deeply roasted agave, caramelized citrus and dark vanilla.  A release of an El Luchador Extra Anejo is scheduled within the next three years.

Tequila Casa Dragones and Pedro Reyes have teamed up to release a unique edition of Casa Dragones Joven tequila that showcases the traditional Mexican art of pepita glass engraving. The bottle features an elegantly hand-engraved design that portrays Reyes' sculpture "Epicuro", which was carved from volcanic rock in 2016.

Reyes' work is inspired by the teachings of Epicurus, who emphasized the importance of achieving happiness through the absence of pain and fear. By focusing on this pursuit of happiness, "Epicuro" embodies the concept of wellness as a form of peace and encourages self-awareness.

Compoveda Reposado Tequila is a premium tequila that is produced in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. This tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber agave, which is grown in the rich volcanic soil of the region. The name "Compoveda" means "vault" in Spanish, a fitting name for a tequila that is aged in oak barrels in a secure cellar.

To create this unique tequila, the agave is harvested by hand and then roasted in traditional brick ovens. After the roasting process, the agave is crushed and the juice is fermented with natural yeasts. The resulting liquid is then distilled twice in copper stills to create a smooth and flavorful tequila.

What sets Compoveda Reposado Tequila apart from other tequilas is its aging process. After the distillation process is complete, the tequila is aged in American oak barrels for a minimum of six months. This aging process gives the tequila its distinct golden color and adds a complex depth of flavor.

Moreover, it was the united power of women that led to the development of this outrageous tequila. Adriana fell in love with a man and introduced him to the Mexican way of life, the culture, and the passion for tequila. Erika, who is the mastermind behind the Padre Azul tequila, is one of only a few females in this branch but also one of the most talented distillers! Laura created the lovely artwork for this year's edition, comprising love, craftsmanship, and culture into one piece – our limited Artist Edition!

TASTE PROFILE

Double Barrel: The tequila matured in two different American oak barrels. First, it aged for 6 months in an ex-Bourbon barrel, then two additional months in another ex-Bourbon barrel to give it that special final touch. The result is 3000 double-aged bottles filled with liquid gold.

Visual: The spirit appears in a bright straw yellow color with decent golden glints that make it shine. A medium body fills the bottle.

Aromatic: Sweet fruity tones such as peach, yellow apple, and cooked agave are very present. Accompanied by a light chocolate flavor and preserved fruits. The barrels influenced the spirit with great woody and caramel nuances.

Taste: Predominantly cooked agave, as well as barrel aromas with a woody tone and preserved caramel. Soft chocolate, peach, and apple flavors fill the mouth. All in all, very balanced and harmonious!

How to enjoy:
This Double Barrel Reposado is enjoyed best at a temperature between 18°C and 20°C, preferably in a tumbler glass, and by sipping in good company. Allow the spirit to oxygenate for about 15 minutes to develop its best aromas. It also harmonizes well with different meat-based dishes.

Aged 16 months in 10 yr old Bourbon barrels, then refined into a Cristalino.Licorice/anise more pronounced, tropical fruit notes, cooked/ ripe, green fruits, creamy, custard like quality, Sweet, tropical , very smooth, Licorice, some pepperiness, vanilla, custard. Very long finish, sweet, creamy with a pronounced palate weight and texture.

TEQUILA BLANCO

Rested for 2-3 months before bottling. Vibrant agave flavor and nose with baked agave and ripe fruit, hints of herbs and minerals, opening up to a soft, smooth finish.

Driven by love and passion, cada día tequila was founded to embody the joy of living life to the fullest and embracing the good in each and every day.  The essence of cada día honors the Jalisco region's history and culture with nobility and distinction and delivers a remarkable tequila sipping experience.

Process: Handcrafted using 8 year old Blue Weber Agave that are slow-cooked for 40 hours in a stone oven. Naturally occurring yeasts from the agave are used for fermentation and during distillation, only the 'hearts' are used. 

Result: An exceptionally crafted tequila plata that is complex, pure, and ultra-smooth.
